The Ignacy Łukasiewicz Museum of Oil and Gas Industry in Bórbka near Krosno

The oil mine in Bóbrka, now a museum, was inaugurated in 1854 and is still open to visitors.

Founded by Ignacy Łukasiewicz,Tytus Trzecieski and Karol Klobassa-Zrencki, it was the first oil mine in the world. The initiator and cofounder of the first oil open air museum in the world – the museum in Bóbrka, was engineer Adam Hoszowski, accompanied by engineer Górka. In 2018, the mine was put on the list of „100 Historical Monuments commemorating the centenary of Polish independence”.
